BUY THIS BOOK! I am in love with Matilda's two men. Woo. How does Cynthia St. Aubin write such an adorably funny, sexy read? I haven't been this excited about a new author since I discovered Janet Evanovich 15 years ago. Funny, suspenseful, and HOT. Come on, a demigod? Yeah, sign me up. I'm hooked. Can't wait to see what Matilda has to survive in Unhoppy!

“Oh, come on!!! Seriously??? But why???” Those were my thoughts, when I ended this book…(add some *pouting*, too!)I found this book more serious than the first one, but it is still very funny!!Let me explain myself. If this book was as light as “Unlovable”, then there would be no point in continue reading this series of books. But in “Unlucky”, we get to learn a bit more about the characters involved and I find this to be a very nice evolution.About the ending, it’s another cliffhanger. But this time, it’s even better than the first one!! Love it! It’s a series of books I don’t think I’ll ever get tired of reading…

Book: UnluckyAuthor: Cynthia St. AubinPublisher: C.OlsenASIN: BOOJOAM8W4Genre: Paranormal mystery RomancePages: 525****Description: Accused of stealing gold from an infamous Irish street gang, paranormal psychologist Matilda Schmidt will die in exactly five days if she doesn’t cough it up-guilty or not. With minutes ticking away and her office overrun by a leprechaun who’s loopier than he is lucky, Matilda makes a deal with a demigod-give him one night in her bed and he’ll help her locate the missing gold. But when Matilda’s recent one-night stand shows up with inside information about the heist she is being framed for, she finds herself caught between a hit man and a demigod both offering to protect her-if they don’t kill each other first. If Matilda’s luck doesn’t change soon, death might be the only thing waiting at the end of the rainbow. My review:This book is a laugh a minute. Matilda is a headstrong but vulnerable protagonist. She has survived a recent kidnapping ordeal and the last thing she needs is a death threat! She has been set up, accused of stealing the gold of a notoriously deadly Irish street gang; she has five days to return the stolen gold…or die!Enter Crixus: Phew!! A demigod with a sexual agenda, he wants Matilda, badly! He is all man, well half man, and he isn’t afraid to go after what he wants. He agrees to help Matilda in exchange for one night with her…alone! But, Crixus comes with a little baggage. Flick the leprechaun! He may be small in stature, but he has a big mouth and an even bigger attitude. He may be a bit more of a hindrance than help, at times, but his heart is always in the right place and he adds a mad touch of hilarity to this mismatched duo.The sexual tension between Crixus and Matilda sizzles and crackles, but just as I had paired them together in my head, in walks, Liam. Liam is the hit man who is responsible for the kidnapping and deflowering of Matilda in the recent past. All big and broody, he takes Matilda’s breath away. He is a man used to getting his own way and he wants Matilda, that much is clear. Their story is not over, not even close. Liam and Crixus try to help Matilda, in their different ways, just barely managing not to kill each other in the process. Flick is a fabulous character and his ‘isms’ had me in tears laughing, throughout the book. Being Irish myself, I was wary about reading this book, very often Leprechauns can be very clichéd and totally ridiculously portrayed in stories (yes, even fairytale creatures can be misrepresented) but Cynthia St. Aubin has him down to perfection. The Irish brogue and total irreverence of Flick’s character, is hilarious and heart-warming in equal measure. There is plenty of suspense and action in ‘Unlucky.’ I loved the characters and the humor. I will definitely be reading more books by this amazing author. I have to find out if Matilda chooses Liam or Crixus! I personally would be glad of a bit of either of them! Excellent story…

I thought the first part of this series was funny, but I was not prepared for the hilarity of Unlucky! I guess leprechauns are funnier than Cupid. And with a name like Felicitous Firecratch McWhiskeybottom it's no wonder. From the get-go Cynthia St. Aubin had me laughing. This lady has one helluva sense of humor; and if aliens are abducting humans and conducting experiments, I think they should abduct Cynthia and take a peek at her brain - she's insane and I say that in the most loving way possible.Unlucky takes place only a few days after the events of Unlovable which was a nice surprise for me, since I thought the second part would take place a little bit later. I feel bad for poor Dr. Schmidt, having to go through more life threatening and supernatural adventures when she still hasn't fully recuperated from the first round. But where there's danger and magical beings, there's Liam and Crixus. I was team Liam after reading the first book. Now that I've read the second, I'm still team Liam, though I must admit, at times Crixus almost got me to switch sides (but he's cheating, I'm sure he's using his demigod powers!)Not much I can say about this story without spoiling it for everyone, so I will just say, if you're looking for a quick read that is smart, funny, hot, sweet, and super imaginative, then I suggest you pick this book up. You will not be disappointing! Uncensored comments from Kindle: 1. Crixus didn’t kiss. He conquered. - I just found that line so hot! 2. “That a leprechaun in your pocket? Or are you just happy to see me?” - LMAO! 3. "He killed you." "What?" - WHAT!? 4. “Don’t ask questions if you’re not ready for the answer.” - This is getting gooood! Liking Crixus a lot more this time around. 5. Such a naughty little book! I love a good innuendo - and there's plenty here. 6. If Crixus conquered, Liam persuaded. - Mmm, hell yeah! Get em, Liam! 7. *snorts* Who calls shotgun to bed? LOL! 8. Aww. How did Cynthia manage to make me feel bad for Crixus?

If you have read Cynthia's first book in the Series Unlovable, then you know just how quirky Dr. Matilda Schmidt is. And I am loving it. She just wants to do her everyday normal life but when Crixus shows up with another "client" let the chaos ensue.. During this case we meet Felicitous Firecratch McWhiskeybottom A feisty little Leprechaun who is trying to keep the balance of Luck in line. Add in death threats and the sexy hitman Liam, better make sure to hold onto your knickers and be ready for another wild ride. As I am getting to know the character's a little more.. it is becoming harder to choose if I am Team Crixus or Team Liam. They both have their good and bad sides, and although they might be little overbearing and sure of themselves, I would be happy to have either one on my side ;). But that is what makes it so hard, sometimes we need those strong personalities like that and then sometimes you just want to roll your eyes at them and be like really? It was interesting to watch the case unfold as we meet some new and interesting character's that definitely have a different look on things to say the least. Can Matilda help Flick? Or will their Luck run out? I definitely would recommend this one there is no shortage of laughs, mystery and steaminess. I am really looking forward to reading the next case which is Unhoppy to see where that adventure takes me.

This is the second book in this series. This book is about Dr. Matilda Schmidt. This time her patient is the man who was building security guard he who has a crush on her and was fired when Matilda was kidnapped. She also has received a death threat. Find the gold in 5 days or else. Little does she know Crixus is bringing her another case to help him with. This time it’s a leprechaun and his name is Flick. Crixus says he will help her find out who sent the letter, for something in return of course. Matilda has asked Crixus to help Rolly(security guard) learn to be more confident. While they are out try to help Rolly Liam makes his appearance. He has info on who is after Matilda. This is the beginning of a funny and sexy adventure.I loved this book. Every woman should be chased after by a demigod and a hitman. This book is hilarious and steamy. I love Liam and Crixus. They are so different but both hot and both want Matilda. All these funny little things happen. I found myself laughing out load at time and fanning myself at other times. These books are a must read. I can’t wait for the next one.

Reviewed by [email protected] Stars ReviewsUnlucky picks up right where Unlovable left off. Matilda Schmidt is now being accused of stealing gold, and once again she is interrupted in her office by the demigod again. Only this time he's asking for something else in exchange for help with her little issue. But another person from Matilda's recent past also makes an appearance again, so Matilda will have to try to protect herself, and figure out what is going on between her and these two men. This one was really good. I liked this one a lot better than the first, but I'm starting to get a feeling of a love triangle type of thing going on. But that's okay, the humor in this one was so much better than the first, and it was easy to follow as well. I really like how Matilda is handling everything, and I love the other characters as well. The only bad things in this book, were the love triangle aspect, and the cliffhanger ending. Well the cliffhanger ended is a good and bad thing at the same time. Now I can't wait to read more.

I had as much fun reading this story as I did the first one. We get to see Crixius and Liam again along with some new characters (entertainment?). What is a girl to do when there is a killer after her, leprechauns dancing in her apartment, two sexy men vying for her attention? You will have to read the book to find out the solution. There is no shortage of entertainment in this installment and you will find yourself rushing through the pages to see what will happen next. This is another 5 star read. I did not want to put the book down one time while I was reading it (that is why supper was at 9:30 instead of 7:30). Everyone needs to snatch these books up and join the adventure. There is no telling what kinds of characters you are liable to meet along the way. I am marking my calendar for the next installment (April 17th).

Just when Dr. Matilda Schmidt, Paranormal Psychologist, thinks her life is going to get back to normal demigod Crixus pays her another visit: this time the prospective client is a leprechaun. Of course, things are never that simple and Matilda is also reunited with Las Vegas hit man Liam Whatshisface, who warns Matilda that an Irish Street gang has accused her of stealing their gold.Matilda’s life just keeps getting more interesting. Her adventures are crazy entertaining. The Leprechauns kept me giggling. Their names are creative to say the least.Matilda’s internal psychological evaluation of everyone she encounters cracked me up. The dialog is witty and thought out.I love that each book's theme is consistent with a holiday and look forward to Unhoppy. Complimentary copy provided in exchange for an honest review.

This is my first time reading anything from Cynthia St. Aubin and I loved it! Unlucky is book two in The Case Files of Dr. Matilda Schmidt, Paranormal Psychologist. I loved every bit of it. It has something for everyone packed into a short action packed story.Matilda Schmidt is accused of stealing gold from an Irish Street gang and receives a not stating that she will die in five days. Matilda makes a deal with Crixus, demigod. Matilda has a one night stand with Liam and he returns to her door step to help her out. Stuck between two hot studs, a leprechaun, and a gang after her; Matilda is losing her mind.Unlucky has something from everyone, I laughed throughout this hilarious story. Reading this has me eager to get book one, Unlovable. I am going to add more of Cynthia to my bookshelf. She weaves a beautiful story.

My review on the first book in this series was a bit shaky, but I am on solid ground now. St. Aubin brings yet another erotic mystery to head in Unlucky. She weaves the story with funny scenes, character humor, and male rivalry for her undivided attention. She is on the clock trying to find out why she has been targeted by a delusional set of paranormals. While Liam, some Leprechauns, and Crixus keep hanging around and make it hard for a girl to get an honest day's work done. What a demi-god wants, a demi-god gets, and Matilda is on the list. Trying to solve the Valentine riddle and keep her head on target, instead of in a fantasy keeps proving harder and harder for her. I absolutely enjoyed this book thoroughly! Looking forward to the next one in this series!

I am loving this hilarious new series by Cynthia St. Aubin. Starting off where Unloveable ended with a 'special valentine,' everything starts on a roller coaster ride to more laugh out loud craziness. In this second book, we get to see a little more of a certain demigod, a handsome hit man, leprechauns, and Tato Mens. That's right, Tato Mens! There were many laugh out loud scenes in this book, but my particular favorite happens about 84% into the book. It takes place with a certain closet incident. If you haven't read the first book and you like laugh out loud sexy books, then start this series with Unloveable. I am impatiently waiting for the next one, but until then, I have the first two books to go back to for more laughs.

Matilda gets another visit from Crixus. This time he has, Felicitous Firecratch McWhiskeybottom. A leprechaun, who is being hunted by the Tato Mens. I just love these books. St. Aubin, does an amazing job of description in these books. "The buttery cheese melted on my tongue as the book's first sensuous words unrolled like bolts of satin over my tired mind." I actually laugh out loud while I read these books. I received one book for a review, but once I read it I had to buy them all!! I just couldn't stop smiling while I read this. I hope that I have lots more to look forward to! You have to read this book. It will keep you laughing long after you have finished it.

Review originally published at Michelle Abbott's BlogUnlucky is the second book in this series but it can be read as a standalone. I loved the first book and so I was looking forward to reading this one. The Demi-God and the hitman are once again vying for Matilda's attention and both these guys are hot, I'd have a hard time choosing between them. The author manages to blend heat with hilarity, this book will have you laughing out loud. The series is creative and original, I highly recommend it and am looking forward to reading the next one.

This is the second book of the series and I absolutely loved it. It was so much fun to read, our witty Dr Matilda Schmidt sure is in a pickle, not only has she 2 hot man competing for her affection, who can choose, but she also has to deal with a threat to her live and of course a Leprechaun. This book has everything you need, action, laugh out loud humor, sexual tension and Tato Men. Run to the next bookstore and get yourself a copy you won't be disappointed. I am ready to read the next installment.
